Roxana Calafos, FNP, Nurse Practitioner

Treating The Underlying Cause of Persistent Health Problems with Advanced Internal Medicine.

Roxana Calafos is a Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 18 years of nursing experience.  She attended Pensacola Christian College and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Nursing.   While working as a Registered Nurse at Edward Hospital, she began pursuing her graduate studies to become a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Since becoming a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner in 2015, she has worked in the walk-in clinic setting seeing a wide range of patients for emergent, non-life-threatening illnesses. She became passionate in functional medicine when she realized most of the patients she was seeing were not living healthy lives, were becoming ill frequently and relied heavily on antibiotics.

She is excited to work in the role of Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner alongside Dr. Sarah Zielsdorf to improve the quality of life for her patients.  She is committed to life-long learning and is pursuing certification in Functional Medicine via the Institute for Functional Medicine.

Her interests include nutrition, adjuncts to cancer treatment and working with the pediatric population.
