Jennifer Loughran’s career includes extensive experience working with individuals, children, adolescents, families, and groups. She believes that when people are experiencing difficult times in their lives, the combination of support and introduction to new skills will provide a sense of relief and the ability to cope with day to day struggles. Her goal for her clients while in treatment is to guide them to feel empowered to overcome future obstacles. Through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy along with the use of Anger Replacement Training Jennifer is able to guide her clients to the emotional balance and stability they desire.
Along with Jennifer’s counseling experience, she has been involved in the education setting for the past 9 years as a School Social Worker. This has allowed her to develop an expertise in school counseling, specifically in regards to the special education population. She has an understanding of the policies and procedures and can offer support in regards to parents advocating on behalf of themselves and their student.
Jennifer became licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in 2012. She earned her Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in School Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2008. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree from the Illinois State University in 2007.
