James D. Huff, APN, is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) holding a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago. James has education and expertise in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and psychotropic medication management.
Since becoming a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in 2015, he has gained a broad range of clinical skill and experience in various practice settings including psychiatric inpatient, outpatient and community mental health. Prior to advanced practice, James’ registered nursing work focused on serious mental illness, developmental disabilities with psychiatric comorbidity, and substance abuse/addiction.
Special Interests Include: Depression, Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder/Trauma, Affective Disorders, Serious Mental Illness and Psychotic Disorders, Attention Deficit Disorder, Sleep Disturbance, Addiction, Mindful Awareness and Meditation Practice.
