Joseph Mullen, D.O., Psychiatrist, Osteopath

Life is difficult for everyone and it’s not uncommon for someone to need support, guidance, and sometimes medication to navigate through life’s challenges at different points in time. I am interested in the treatment of the person as a whole. This includes having healthy, supportive persons in our life; getting enjoyment out of life/improving one’s quality of life, proper nutrition and exercise, as well as incorporating meditation and other complementary treatments that will enhance a person’s treatment. Developing a balanced life between work, family, friends and hobbies/other activities is also crucial.

The key to treating any medical illness, including mental health, largely involves lifestyle changes over the long term. There are also short-term needs that need to be met with the appropriate intensity level of interventions to meet the intensity level of acute symptoms. I work with my patients on both of these presenting circumstances.

I also enjoy working with people in individual psychotherapy that are curious about themselves, seek better understanding about themselves and that want to improve themselves.
