ALAN R. HIRSCH, M.D., F.A.C.P., a Board Certified Neurologist and Psychiatrist.  He is a Senior Attending in the Department of Medicine at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center.
Dr. Hirsch is certified by the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry in Neurology, Psychiatry, Pain Medicine, Geriatric Psychiatry, and Addition Psychiatry, and by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties – Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry.Dr. Hirsch received both his B.A. and M.D. degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and completed his residencies in both Neurology and Psychiatry at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.  He has written hundreds of articles and eight books about different aspects of psychiatry and neurology. Often times underlying psychiatric disorders stem from undiagnosed neurologic or medical illness.  Dr. Hirsch’s exceptional background and experience enable him to provide attention to these problems which often complicate psychiatric and behavioral treatments.
