Amra Klempic, Psy. D

Dr.Amra Klempic is a very talented, compassionate and hardworking, Doctor of Clinical Psychology, with a background in Health and Neuropsychology. 

Dr. Klempic completed her undergraduate work at Elmhurst College in Elmhurst IL with a Bachelors in Science Degree in Psychology and a minor in Biology. She completed her Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University Medical School in Downers Grove, IL focusing in Clinical Psychology.  Prior to Dr. Klempic becoming a Clinical Psychologist, she spent seven years working in the private practice setting as a Medical Assistant/Clerk. In addition, Dr. Klempic has also been on a team at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital for the past eleven years, working as a Unit Secretary on the Cardiac/Neuro Progressive Care Unit, with rotations to Ortho/Trauma, Oncology, Bariatric and Detox Units. 

Dr. Klempic completed her Internship at DuPage County Health Department and Fellowship in Health and Neuropsychology with a focus on the geriatric population at Comprehensive Counseling, PC in Lombard. Her experience is based on working with multi-ethnic, culturally and economically diverse clientele in multiple settings that include: hospital, long-term care facility/nursing home, private practice, and clinic. For the past 3 years, Dr. Klempic has been providing Comprehensive Neuropsychological and Psychological Evaluations, Capacity Evaluations, Individual and Family Psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults and elderly with multiple neurological, medical and psychological problems, such as dementia, head trauma, Parkinson’s, stroke, ADHD, PTSD, depression, anxiety, etc. Dr. Klempic recognizes that every client is unique and in need of attention to detail type of care. She believes in a comprehensive and compassionate approach to therapy that addresses mind, body and spirit equally (holistic approach).  

Currently, her clinical focus of interest is in Cardiac Psychology, Geropsychology, Health Psychology, Neuropsychology, PTSD/Trauma and Rehabilitation Psychology. Dr. Klempic is multilingual; she speaks Bosnian, Croatian, English and Serbian. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, running, traveling, cooking, music and reading.
